Do you know what type of moisturizer you have to use?

How often do you use a moisturizer? What type of skin do you have? How much do you pay for your moisturizer? Are you spending so much or are you spending not enough to get the best one? These are the basic questions that you have to ask yourself. Moisturizers prevent and treat dry skin, not only that they also protect your sensitive skin, can improve your skin tone, texture and any imperfections. Any gender should use a moisturizer to fight aging, and you have to use it twice a day, in the morning and before bedtime.

How do you find the right one for you?

Well if you have a DRY SKIN it would be better if you choose a heavier, oil based moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and restored.

If you have a NORMAL SKIN, it’s either your skin is too dry or too oily. In this case, you have to use a water based moisturizer that has a light non greasy feel.

For OILY SKIN, you’re much more prone having acne, breakouts and clog pores. In this case, it’s better to use a light free moisturizer or water based product that’s labeled noncomedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores.

SENSITIVE SKIN, you’re susceptible to have irritations, redness or rashes. Our face is like baby skin, so it’s safer to use if it doesn’t have fragrance or dyes. Use that has chamomile, aloe or any soothing ingredients.

MATURE SKIN, As we get older we produce less oil in our face, so it means our face gets drier. It is better to use an oil based moisturizer with antioxidants to combat those fine lines and wrinkles.

Once you know your skin type, now you can buy a moisturizer that will work for you. Remember you don’t have to pay so much, you may find yours in a regular drugstore. Expensive doesn’t mean always the best, especially if it won’t work right to your skin. So make sure read reviews and check the ingredients.

Here are some of my top picks that I have tried so far:

I have a SENSITIVE SKIN and have tried different moisturizers.

1. Philosophy Hope in a Jar

2. Clinique Redness Solution

3. Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer

But there’s one that I really love and I think this is my holy grail when it comes to moisturizer. It’s BODY SHOP Drops of Youth, so light free and can change the texture of your face in two days. It’s $34 for 1.7oz, you don’t have to use a lot at all because it spreads really well.

Hopefully, this guide of mine can help you finding the right one for you.
